The MBraun series at a glance
New MBraun gloveboxes come in several series that differ in build, modularity and application:
- MBraun LABstar pro – the compact single box for standard applications: the entry into MBraun quality, with gas purification, shelves and stand as standard.
- MBraun UNIlab pro – the most widely used series for research and industry: flexibly configurable, from the 2-glove box to the double-sided multi-workstation unit.
- MBraun LABmaster pro – modular and high-end for demanding processes and continuous operation.
Which series suits you depends on working space, number of gloves, required purity (O₂/H₂O in ppm) and accessories. You build all of that in the configurator above and see a price guide right away.
What does a new glovebox include?
A complete new unit includes, depending on configuration:
- Gas purification with molecular sieve and copper catalyst for consistently low O₂ and H₂O levels (often below 1 ppm)
- Antechambers (large and/or mini antechamber) to move material in and out without losing the protective-gas atmosphere
- Glove ports – from 2 to 8, operable from one or both sides
- Sensors for O₂ and H₂O, control unit and vacuum pump
- optional: ovens, freezer, solvent filter, regeneration-gas generator, windows and further accessories
What each component does is explained in our primer What is a glovebox?.

What does a new MBraun glovebox cost?
The price depends heavily on series and equipment – a compact single box is well below a large, double-sided multi-workstation unit with many options. The configurator above gives you an instant rough price guide (net, non-binding); KeT Boxsysteme prepares the precise quote. A detailed overview of the cost factors is available under What does a glovebox cost?.
New or used?
It doesn't always have to be brand new: a professionally refurbished used glovebox offers the same core technology at a fraction of the price and is usually available sooner. Read the comparison under New or used glovebox? – and a look at our range of used MBraun gloveboxes is almost always worthwhile.
Frequently asked questions about buying a new MBraun glovebox
What does a new MBraun glovebox cost?
The price depends on the series (LABstar pro, UNIlab pro, LABmaster pro), size and equipment. The configurator on this page shows you a live, rough price guide; you then receive a precise, non-binding quote from KeT Boxsysteme. More on the cost factors under What does a glovebox cost?.
Which MBraun series is right for me?
The compact LABstar pro suits standard single-workstation applications, the UNIlab pro is the most flexible series for research and industry, and the LABmaster pro is modular for demanding processes and continuous operation. What matters is working space, number of gloves, purity requirement (O₂/H₂O in ppm) and accessories – all of which you set in the configurator.
Are delivery and commissioning included in the price?
Delivery, installation and commissioning are handled by our partner KeT Boxsysteme across Europe. The scope is stated in your individual quote, so you have full transparency.
What is the lead time for a new glovebox?
New units often have a lead time of several months due to the manufacturer. If you need it faster, a used, refurbished glovebox is often the better choice – usually available at short notice.
New or used – which is more worthwhile?
Technically there is little between them, as long as the used box has been professionally refurbished. Used costs a fraction and is available sooner; new offers a manufacturer warranty and bespoke custom configurations. The comparison is at New or used glovebox?.
